Good morning, All,

One of our SV-based list members sent us some information about two organizations that might be helpful to you startups out there – or to those of you who are considering moving out there, or going on a funding junket:

Bay Area Startup Network (BASN – www.basn.org) is a growing association in the San Francisco Bay Area focused on helping early stage entrepreneurs build successful companies. Although focused mostly on technology, BASN events and membership draw from all sectors of industry including medical devices and cleantech. Bay Area Startup Network is also the umbrella organization for USAngelInvestors, a private investor group that meets once a month in Palo Alto, CA. They’re both by invitation, but an email link is available on their sites to secure an invite. Our source in SV told us that startups pitch – and angels right checks on the spot.

We believe it’s about time we started something like that on this coast, what, eh? Just a thought and doesn’t hurt to put it out there.

Also, don’t forget early registration for ‘Find-A-Cofounder II’, an Entrepreneurs Roundtable/StartupOneStop.com/GIT event. It takes place Monday, July 26 at Hudson Terrace. Bonin Bough (PepsiCo) will open the evening and talk about PepsiCo’s new startup venture initiative. There will be a panel discussion featuring David Rose (New York Angels), Peter Shankman (Help A Reporter Out) and Michelle Madhok (shefinds.com). Some of you will also get a chance to pitch your startup. Then you can all network and – find a co-founder! And who knows who else you might find in the room… And our thanks to our sponsors: New York Angels, PepsiCo, and the law offices of HogsonRuss. RSVP: http://findacofounder2.eventbrite.com/

For now, as always, help is on the way…
