Good morning, All, and we know some of you have startups in the education space, sooo – your bonus today is Kaufman Labs Education Ventures bootcamp for – of course, education startups. Deadline for consideration is September 20. An SOS member brought it to our attention, and we believe in sharing. When appropriate. Don’t touch my coffee in the morning. Don’t even think about it.

Seriously.

Details and application forms for KLE is here: http://www.kauffmanlabs.org/?gclid=CKWCpYHIiaMCFRNO5QodajRWew

Next, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Startup Challenge: an annual competition designed for young, promising start-ups to get noticed and compete for a chance to win $100,000 in cash and credits. Start-ups that are using the AWS cloud computing platform – and we know you’re out there – can submit an application which describes their business plan and their use of AWS. This year, they’ve expanded their world footprint, so it’s not just open to US-based companies. And all eligible participants receive $25 AWS credits!Details are here: aws.amazon.com/startupchallenge/

Congratulations to Charles Torres of Reitler Kailas & Rosenblatt. Charles, an early SOS member, was just named Attorney of the Year by the New York Enterprise Report, a publication aimed at helping New York entrepreneurs grow their businesses. I know some of you know him, since Charles is one of the attorneys who responds to legal questions that are posted here and the firm is very startup-friendly. Other attorneys do as well, and our thanks to all of them!

Finally, we want to wish you all a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend, and because it’s a short week, we’re keeping it short(er) today. We might do a bbq Sunday, so ping me if you’re in town. See you in September and until then, help is on the way…
