Good morning, All, and the only thing is: now come the holiday parties and
you pretty much won’t have a chance to stop eating until New Year’s Day.

It’s Thanksgiving Week, so we’re only sending out one blast this week. But
hopefully by some time next week, I’ll have some information about a holiday
party we’re organizing, and if anyone wants to sponsor, that would be
fabulous!

Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving, and we’ll see you next week. Read More...

So, SOS is roughly two months old now, and I want to fill you in on feedback we’ve been getting: people have found work and/or clients; beta testers; general advice/feedback; legal and business help and some of you are now even talking to potential investors who’ve responded to your postings. Oh, and a number of you have come up to me at networking events to tell me that you look forward to reading the blasts. Happy that we’re entertaining you, and yet, some of you still call or come up to me and ask for recommendations/introductions, when you could simply post them to the list.

So going forward, it would be nice if you guys – and you know who you are – would simply post. OR find me an agent and I’ll try my hand at standup.

And now, help is on the way… Read More...

Oops, gotta watch my references. One of those weeks.

Good morning, all and you know, there are quite a few investors, lawyers,
business plan writers, etc. on the list. Presumably they joined to help and to see
what the entrepreneurs on the list are doing, so, well, a few elevator
pitches might be a good idea right about now. Just thought I’d throw that
out there into the cosmos.

I am meeting with someone who’s going to help me sort out a venue so
that at least some of us can meet IRL. It’ll be a different sort of
networking event. Yes, there will be alcohol, BUT name tags will also display
what you need – or what you can offer. Just to make it easier to connect. Coming soon. Read More...

Happy Election Day, All, and Guy Fawkes Night to the Brits on the list:

And thank you so much, Asli, for mentioning StartupOneStop on Channel 9 this past week (http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/This+Week+On+Channel+9/TWC9-Asli-Bilgin-Halloween-VS2010-and-community-events/). Do take a look, if you have a chance.

Also, there’s still time to register for New York Entrepreneur Week, November 16-20. Don’t wait till the last minute, which is what I usually do. URL is http://www.nyew.org/. If there are any other upcoming events that SOS members might be interested in, let me know and happy to share the information. Read More...
