General Catalyst comes to NYC Friday, May 21st, and SOS startups are invited to come pitch!
Good morning, All, FYI: General Catalyst is a Boston-based venture firm with $1.7B under management. Background: founded in 2000 by a group of former entrepreneurs and operators, GC focuses on early stage investments in the consumer internet, mobile, enterprise IT, cleantech, and med-tech industries. Investments include OLX, Hunch, Boxee, ScanScout, PhotoShelter, RueLaLa, Kayak and Brightcove, to name a few. Stuart Levinson and Gautam Gupta from General Catalyst will be hosting informal NYC office hours and their focus is on consumer internet and software investments. Meetings will be held at the Silicon Alley Insider Offices (119 5th Ave, 7th floor) and here’s the link to get on their radar: http://doodle.com/r26m8y4dqhzcpcgc
Speaking of being in NYC next week, SAI Startup 2010 is next week, Thursday, May 20th – and SOS members get a 20% discount. Register at http://startup-2010.eventbrite.com/?discount=StartupOneStop.
Speaking of SAI – which is Silicon Alley Insider, for those of us playing the home version: the link is BusinessInsider, as SAI did rename themselves a while back for whatever reason, so, can they please pick one name or the other? Just asking and thanks for playing.
And speaking of hook-ups, well, you’ll read the posts and see what we mean and may even get a chuckle, like we did.
Oh, and the date is listed on the cozywallet post – but the date for the event is next Thursday, May 20th.
For now, it’s that time again – onward and forward and help is on the way…
